Episode 20 of our Podcast (known as the Medium Wave Podcast) is up now, in which we play and talk about some of the pop records we’ve purchased from these ‘ere shops recently.
It is fair to say that most of the bands and artistes we play on the show do not exactly live in Elton John style mansions with armies of PR execs providing a limitless supply of ‘Bugle’ (whatever that is) and bowls of M&Ms with the brown ones taken out. Some of them are more than likely working as Supply Teachers or Music Journalists to fill in the gaps during their infrequent tours of Utrecht. So, if you can, please listen via our Mixcloud.com page as that way the artistes get royalties for being on the show, as they would if we were on a real radio station and not a pretend one. Don’t worry, the presenters of the Podcast don’t make a penny!

Among the painfully hip music this episode we have The Evil D’s, Apples in Stereo, Red, Andy Weatherall, Patsy Ray and the Beatniks, Luke Vibert, Desire, Beat Beat Beat, New Fast Automatic Daffodils, Lee Fields and the Expressions, Gary War and Homelife.
If you wanna hear it the old fashioned way, please subscribe via Itunes (although they don’t remunerate the artistes but if you like something you hear, go and buy it!)

They still do, and 'kids' of all ages should be pleasantly surprised at just how many places in this city they can still buy records from. So this is our one-stop guide to the fantastic record shops of Greater Manchester, from the 'Vinyl Valley' that is Oldham Street in the Northern Quarter, to the windswept streets of Bolton, Lancashire. Browse the menu on the right hand side and go shopping!
